New Delhi, June 24: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rainfall and overcast skies across several parts of Delhi and adjoining NCR areas on Tuesday, offering much-needed respite from the intense summer heat gripping the region.
According to the IMD, light rain is expected to impact various localities in Delhi, including:
- Narela, Bawana, Alipur, Kanjhawala, Rohini, Badli, Pitampura, Mundka, Paschim Vihar, Rajouri Garden, Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, and IGI Airport.
Rain in Surrounding NCR Regions
Rainfall is also likely in nearby NCR towns like Bahadurgarh and Gurugram, and parts of Haryana including Safidon, Jind, and Panipat.
Monsoon Advancing Across Northern and Eastern India
The IMD also reported that the Southwest Monsoon has progressed into most parts of Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh as of June 19.
Heavy rainfall is expected in the coming days in several regions, including:
- Gujarat, Konkan, and Madhya Maharashtra (June 19)
- Jharkhand (June 19–20)
- West Bengal and Odisha (June 19)
Regional Forecasts
- Northeast India: Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and isolated heavy showers for the next 7 days.
- South India: Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Kerala and Mahe (June 19, 22–25), and Coastal Karnataka (June 19, 21–25).
- Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema: Hot and humid conditions expected during June 19–21.
