The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that it will operate the “first-ever train” of the Delhi Metro network, identified as TS#01, as a special commemorative service on December 25 to celebrate the anniversary of the commencement of metro operations in 2002.
According to the DMRC, the historic train will run as a special trip from Shahdara to Tis Hazari at 10 AM on Thursday. The organization confirmed that the train will be specially decorated to enhance the nostalgic experience for passengers. DMRC has also invited commuters and metro enthusiasts through its official X handle to participate in the celebration and relive the iconic moment.

In view of Christmas celebrations and heavy festive footfall, the Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) has issued a special advisory for the Saket area in South Delhi, which houses major shopping and entertainment hubs including Select Citywalk Mall, DLF Avenue Mall, and MGF Metropolitan Mall.
These locations witness massive crowds every Christmas due to elaborate decorations, festive events, and seasonal attractions.
To manage the surge, traffic movement will remain regulated on key routes around Saket, with additional traffic personnel deployed to manage congestion, streamline vehicular flow, and ensure public safety.
