New Delhi (India), March 22: Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has nominated 14 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to represent the National Capital Territory of Delhi in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for the financial year 2025-2026.
The nominations were made in accordance with Section 3(3)(b)(ii) of the Municipal Corporation Act, 1957. The nominated MLAs are expected to play a crucial role in supporting the MCD in areas such as budget formulation, civic administration, and urban governance. Their efforts will be focused on addressing key municipal challenges, including sanitation, infrastructure development, and improving the overall quality of life for Delhi residents.

In a related development, Speaker Vijender Gupta expressed concerns regarding the lack of response from administrative officers to communications from Assembly members. On Wednesday, he wrote a letter to Chief Secretary Dharmendra, highlighting instances where letters, phone calls, and messages from Assembly members had not been acknowledged.
Gupta urged the Chief Secretary to ensure that Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and key officials of Delhi Police and DDA strictly comply with government instructions on this matter. He emphasized the urgency of addressing the issue to maintain proper communication between the government and the legislative body.
