Delhi Government Prepares For Summer Water Crisis & Monsoon Waterlogging

New Delhi [India], March 28: With summer temperatures rising, Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma chaired a crucial meeting with Delhi Jal Board officials and MLAs to discuss strategies for water management in the capital.

Key Measures Discussed:

  • Appointment of nodal officers in every department to coordinate water supply solutions between MLAs and government officials.
  • Increase in water tankers to ensure adequate water distribution in high-demand areas.
  • Structural improvements in Delhi’s deteriorating water system to provide equal access to water for all residents.
  • Elimination of water leakage to conserve resources and reduce wastage.

Parvesh Verma emphasized that previous administrations failed to take adequate steps, and the current government is committed to stopping the recurring water crisis.

Focus on Monsoon Readiness

Apart from tackling water shortages, the Delhi government is also preparing to prevent waterlogging in the upcoming monsoon season.

On March 16, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, along with Parvesh Verma and LG Vinai Kumar Saxena, inspected major city drains like Barapullah, Kushak, and Sunehri Pullah, issuing strict instructions to officials for timely desilting.

Government’s Commitment

Verma reassured residents that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure a smooth summer and monsoon season, avoiding water shortages and urban flooding.

Do you think these measures will be enough to handle Delhi’s annual water crisis? 🚰💧
