New Delhi [India], March 8: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday assured that the BJP-led government in the national capital will fulfill all its promises, particularly regarding the welfare and security of women. Speaking at an event to celebrate International Women’s Day, the Delhi CM emphasized the party’s commitment to women’s issues.
“Today, women from across the country, from North to South, and from Gujarat to Northeast, are sending their congratulatory messages. Women from various fields are rejoicing,” she said.
Highlighting the BJP’s achievements, she added, “The only government that approved a 33 percent reservation for women is Narendra Modi’s government. We will continue working for women’s welfare and security. We have already built public toilets in Delhi to enhance safety and convenience for women.”
Rekha Gupta also praised her party for empowering women workers and leaders. “I have received a great deal of respect, the kind we once only dreamed of. We have now reached a point where we can freely express our feelings and contribute meaningfully,” she remarked.
Reflecting on her journey, Gupta shared, “Through many elections and struggles, I gained the experience needed to do welfare work for the country. The organization feels like a big family to me.”
She further pointed out that while many organizations spoke about women’s rights, only the BJP delivered on those promises. “There is only one party that has not just talked about women-led development but has also implemented it, with a women-led government.”
In a proud moment, she added, “Today, it’s possible that if Nirmala Sitharaman presents the country’s budget, I will present Delhi’s budget.”
Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda, along with Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, also attended the ‘Mahila Divas Program’ on International Women’s Day. Nadda expressed his gratitude to the women of Delhi, stating, “I bow to women on Women’s Day and thank the women of Delhi for their unwavering support, which helped the BJP government win in Delhi. This victory wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Matra Shakti.”
He further emphasized the party’s focus on women-led development, saying, “Prime Minister Modi believes that when women are empowered, the world develops. This is why the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party have always considered women’s empowerment as a fundamental principle.”
