Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Meets PM Modi, Discusses Infrastructure With PWD Officials Amid Political Developments

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Gupta convened a meeting with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) to focus on improving Delhi’s infrastructure and address concerns over damaged roads. “Chief Minister @gupta_rekha held a meeting with the PWD officials to improve the infrastructure of Delhi and also discussed issues related to dug-up roads, damaged roads, and traffic management, giving directions to the concerned officials,” Delhi BJP posted on X.

In parallel, Delhi’s PWD Minister Parvesh Verma conducted an on-ground inspection of projects spanning from Bhairon Marg to Sarai Kale Khan on the Ring Road. During the inspection, he spoke to locals and officials to understand their grievances and sought solutions to the issues. Verma emphasized to officials, “Make sure the roads are durable for 10-15 years, even though the official lifespan is 5 years.”

Verma also inquired about the progress of a 4-km stretch of road under repair, addressing concerns about traffic congestion during closures. Officials explained that work is carried out per lane, mostly during the night to minimize disruptions.

Meanwhile, former Delhi CM and AAP leader Atishi expressed concern over the new government not passing the promised Rs 2,500 scheme for women. In a letter to CM Rekha Gupta, Atishi noted that despite the first cabinet meeting being held on February 20, the scheme had not been approved, leaving women feeling deceived. Atishi requested a meeting with Gupta to discuss the matter on February 23.
