Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Inaugurates Water Pipeline, Slams AAP Over Neglected Infrastructure

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday inaugurated a new water pipeline in Singalpur village, located in the Shalimar Bagh area, reaffirming her administration’s focus on public welfare and transparent governance.

Addressing residents at the event, CM Gupta said, “Till now, we have been paying the liabilities of previous governments. The intention of our government is the welfare of the people. Work should be done in the interest of the people; no work should stop.

Gupta underlined her government’s commitment to honesty and accountability, stating, “It is the responsibility of the government to do every work with complete transparency and honesty, and we will fulfil it.

Criticism of AAP’s Legacy on Infrastructure and Fire Safety

A day earlier, CM Gupta strongly criticised the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of leaving Delhi’s firefighting systems in a “dilapidated state.”

“The firefighting systems under the previous government were in a dilapidated state. Because of this, we were not able to provide the necessary solutions to people in the case of numerous tragedies,” Gupta said during an inspection of modern firefighting vehicles at the Secretariat.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by BJP MP Ramvir Bidhuri and Delhi Minister Ashish Sood during the inspection of upgraded Delhi Fire Service (DFS) equipment.

She stressed the need for rapid emergency response and modern techniques to combat fires, adding, “Delhi should use the latest techniques to deal with any fire incident as quickly as possible.

Modernising Mandis: A New Priority

On the same day, CM Gupta visited Azadpur Mandi, one of Asia’s largest wholesale markets, and lambasted the AAP government for turning mandis into “hubs of corruption” rather than improving them.

“The condition of all the mandis in Delhi is so bad that no work has been done in the last 10–15 years. We will make a plan to modernise the mandis,” she told reporters.

Delhi Minister Ashish Sood Echoes Sentiment

Supporting the CM’s criticism, Minister Ashish Sood said, “Under the leadership of Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, we are continuously making efforts to make Delhi’s infrastructure the best in the country.” He further accused AAP of making no serious effort to modernise critical services over the past decade.

With the inauguration of the new water pipeline, the modernisation of fire services, and mandi inspections, CM Rekha Gupta is signaling a clear break from the policies of the previous government, positioning her administration as proactive, reform-oriented, and focused on restoring basic infrastructure across the capital.
