In a major relief measure, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced that the government has allocated ₹260 crore in the 2026 budget to provide free LPG cylinders to households during Holi and Diwali.
Under the scheme, eligible families will receive one LPG cylinder free of cost on each of the two major festivals, aiming to ease the financial burden on households amid rising fuel prices. The announcement comes as part of the government’s broader welfare push in the national capital.
Officials indicated that more details regarding eligibility criteria and distribution mechanisms are expected to be released soon. The move is likely to benefit a large number of domestic LPG consumers across Delhi.
