According to police, Umar drove into Delhi carrying a detonator and explosive material. Forensic teams have collected DNA samples from his mother for verification.

Investigators found that Muzammil Ganaie, another doctor arrested in the Faridabad terror module case, had conducted reconnaissance near Red Fort multiple times in January, according to data retrieved from his mobile phone. Muzammil also worked with Umar at Al Falah University.
