New Delhi [India]: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi legislative party convened on Wednesday at the party headquarters to elect its leader. The newly appointed leader will be announced later today and will take over as the Chief Minister of Delhi.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, who arrived at the meeting, stated, “Soon, the name will be announced. We will see a good decision.”
Preparations for the Swearing-In Ceremony Underway
Final arrangements for Thursday’s swearing-in ceremony, including VIP guest invitations, were discussed at a high-level meeting at the BJP headquarters. Senior leaders present included BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, Vinod Tawde, Arun Singh, Virendra Sachdeva, Harsh Malhotra, Alka Gurjar, and Vishnu Mittal.
This marks the end of a 27-year-long wait for the BJP to form a government in Delhi. The swearing-in ceremony is set to be a grand celebration, with BJP youth workers organizing a bike rally and Mahila Morcha members wearing saffron headgear. Sources indicate that leaders from various organizations, including RSS figures and religious heads, will also attend.
High-Profile Guests Expected
The event will be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with more than 50 senior BJP leaders. BJP state Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, and NDA leaders will also be present. The ceremony will begin with a cultural program featuring music and performances.
Approximately 30,000 guests have been invited, including industrialists, celebrities, and BJP leaders from other states who played key roles in the Delhi Assembly elections. Special invitees include Ladli Behna beneficiaries and local farmers. According to sources, leaders from opposition parties, including the Congress president and AAP representatives, have also been invited.
