New Delhi [India], January 28: Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5, 2025, Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi visited the Valmiki Temple in Delhi to offer prayers on Tuesday.
After his visit, Rahul Gandhi engaged with people in the New Delhi Constituency. He is set to hold roadshows in Patparganj and Okhla Assembly constituencies later today.
The Congress party, which ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has faced setbacks in recent elections, failing to win any seats in the last two assembly contests. The upcoming Delhi Assembly polls will be held on February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
In the 2020 assembly elections, AAP dominated with 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP secured only eight. Unlike the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where Congress aligned with the ruling AAP under the INDIA bloc banner, the party will contest all 70 assembly seats in this election.
