Delhi Airport Operations Remain Normal Amid Airspace Restrictions; Passengers Advised Of Possible Delays

New Delhi [India]: Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) issued an advisory on Sunday confirming that operations at the airport continue to run normally despite evolving airspace conditions and heightened security measures.

According to the advisory,
“Delhi Airport operations continue to remain normal. However, due to evolving airspace conditions and enhanced security measures as directed by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, some flight schedules may be impacted, and security processing times could be longer.”

Passengers have been urged to stay informed by checking updates from their respective airlines, adhere to hand baggage and luggage regulations, and arrive at the airport well in advance to accommodate possible delays at security checkpoints.

“We urge all passengers to rely solely on official sources for accurate information and avoid sharing unverified content,” the advisory further stated.

The notice comes shortly after the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and other aviation agencies issued a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), announcing the temporary closure of 32 airports across Northern and Western India for civil flight operations.

The NOTAMs are in effect from May 9, 2025, to May 14, 2025, until 0529 IST on May 15, 2025, citing operational reasons.

Airports affected by the temporary closure include:
Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise, and Uttarlai.

DIAL continues to coordinate with aviation and security agencies to ensure passenger safety and minimize disruptions during this period.
