Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Lauds Operation Sindoor in Srinagar, Questions Safety of Pakistan’s Nuclear Arsenal

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 15: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during his visit to Srinagar on Thursday, commended the Armed Forces for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, and raised serious concerns about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, calling it a “rogue” nation.

Addressing the armed forces and civilians, Singh praised the precision and effectiveness of India’s military action.
“The world knows our army’s aim is precise. Once they strike, they leave the counting to the enemy. We did not bow to nuclear blackmail,” Singh said.

In a bold statement, the Defence Minister questioned Pakistan’s ability to responsibly manage its nuclear arsenal.
*”From the land of Srinagar, I raise this question: Are nuclear weapons safe in the hands of such an irresponsible and rogue nation? I believe Pakistan’s nuclear weapons should be placed under the supervision of the *International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),” he added.

Singh attributed the success of Operation Sindoor to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the valor of the armed forces.
“The country is proud of your actions under the leadership of PM Modi. As a citizen of India and your Defence Minister, I commend you. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have shown their anger against Pakistan and terrorism in unity,” he said.

He also acknowledged the public’s role in rejecting terrorism and applauded the army’s firm response to Pakistan’s provocations.
“The destruction of enemy posts across the border is a message they won’t forget,” he stated.

Beginning his address with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” Singh paid homage to the soldiers who lost their lives in the fight against terrorism.
“I bow to the supreme sacrifice of our brave jawans. I also pay tribute to the innocent civilians killed in Pahalgam and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the Defence Minister inspected shell remnants from cross-border firing. His visit to Srinagar comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tour of the Adampur Air Base earlier this week.
