Zaira Wasim, a Bollywood actress who is known for her appearances in Dangal and Secret Superstar, got married and shared the news on Instagram on Friday night.
The actress posted two pictures of the ceremony with the words “Qubool Hai x3” on them. The pictures show the couple signing the nikaah documents with their backs to the camera, which keeps Zaira’s husband’s identity a secret. She donned a brilliant red wedding dress with golden embroidery on it, which is a customary way to honor her big day.
Zaira didn’t say who her husband was or show his face in the post.
From being famous in Bollywood to making personal choices
Zaira became well-known after her first Bollywood movie, Dangal, which came out in 2016 and starred Aamir Khan. She got the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as young Geeta Phogat, a famous Indian wrestler.
In 2017’s Secret Superstar, she played a young girl who was determined to follow her goal of singing even though society was against it. Aamir Khan, Meher Vij, and Raj Arjun were also in the movie.
The Choice to Leave Showbiz
Zaira quit acting in 2019 because she wanted to focus on her religious convictions. She posted on social media that the accolades and acclaim she got for her work didn’t make her happy and were a test of her faith.
“While I humbly accept all the love people show me, I can’t stress enough how the praise I get doesn’t make me feel good and how much of a test it is for me and how dangerous it is for my Iman,” she posted on Facebook.
Zaira has kept a low profile since then, concentrating on her personal life and spiritual path. Her wedding represents a big new chapter in her life as a former child star.
