Renowned singer and music composer Daboo Malik recently shared a deeply personal account of his struggles in the music industry, revealing how the unwavering support of Salman Khan and Sohail Khan helped him through a period of immense physical and financial distress. In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, Malik disclosed that stress had taken such a toll on him that he felt physically paralyzed, unable to even speak.
Malik recounted a time when he was “literally, not medically” unable to express himself. “My tongue, my facial expressions had been paralyzed due to intense stress,” he said. He confessed that his self-respect made it impossible for him to ask for help, a situation he described as “diabolical.” It was during this dark period that the Khan family, including Sohail Khan, Salim Khan, and Salman Khan, came into his life, bringing about the “biggest change.”
He expressed particular gratitude for his friendship with Sohail Khan, who he said provided emotional, physical, and financial guidance. Malik recalled a powerful promise from Sohail: “He told me just one thing: if you ever face a lack in life, if nothing else works out, I will always be with you. The rest—you have enough ability in you to achieve something. And that’s exactly what happened.”
Daboo Malik, the son of veteran music director Sardar Malik and brother of composer Anu Malik, initially pursued a career in acting before finding his true calling in music. He appeared in films like Beta Ho To Aisa, Tirangaa, and Baazigar. He later composed his first song, “Thoda Sa Pyaar Hua Hai,” for the film Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, going on to work on hit films like Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam.
His sons, Armaan Malik and Amaal Mallik, have also achieved significant success in the music industry. Armaan is a celebrated singer with popular tracks like “Bol Do Na Zara,” while Amaal is a renowned music composer known for his work in films like Jai Ho, Airlift, and Kabir Singh.
