Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal Demands High-Level Probe Into Body Found in Suitcase In Rohtak

Jhajjar (Haryana) [India], March 2– Congress MLA from Jhajjar, Geeta Bhukkal, has expressed deep concern over the tragic incident in which the body of a party worker, Himani Narwal, was found stuffed inside a suitcase near the Sampla bus stand in Rohtak. Bhukkal has called for a thorough investigation into the case, emphasizing the need for a high-level probe to uncover the circumstances behind the horrific act.

“It is a very painful and inhumane incident. The manner in which a daughter was killed is deeply concerning. Where is our state, our society heading? A high-level investigation should be conducted into this matter,” Bhukkal said. She highlighted that Narwal was an active member of the Congress party, adding to the urgency of the investigation.

The body of Himani Narwal, an active party worker, was discovered on Friday in a large blue suitcase. The suitcase was found near the Sampla bus stand, and her identification was made through the scarf she wore and the mehndi designs on her hands. The incident was promptly reported to the Sampla police station.

Congress Haryana President Bhupinder Singh Hooda condemned the incident, calling it a “blot on the law and order situation of the state.” He also demanded a “high-level” and “impartial” investigation into the matter. “There should be a high-level, impartial investigation into this murder. The government should ensure justice for the victim’s family and impose the harshest punishment on the culprits,” Hooda added.

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit echoed the party’s stance, demanding a high-level probe. “If there are any doubts about a political angle to this case, the government must take them seriously. The police should thoroughly investigate. The Haryana Congress has called for a high-level investigation because there are concerns about the lower-level inquiry. I too demand the same,” Dikshit stated.

Sampla police station SHO Bijendra Singh confirmed that it appears Narwal was murdered before her body was placed in the suitcase and discarded by the roadside. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination at PGIMS Rohtak to determine the exact cause of death.
