KS Alagiri, a high-ranking Congress leader in Tamil Nadu, has caused a stir with his recent comments about BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut. Alagiri stated that if Ranaut came to Tamil Nadu, he urged farm laborers to do what a female CISF officer did to her at the Chandigarh airport last year: slap her.
Alagiri said that he was right to say what he did because Ranaut “abuses everyone” wherever she goes, even ladies who work in agriculture. He talked about the 2024 incident at the Chandigarh airport, where a CISF constable allegedly smacked Ranaut for her earlier views against the farmers’ protest.
“A lady police officer slapped her a few months ago when she (Kangana Ranaut) went to an airport,” Alagiri told media. “The police officer said that she abuses everyone she meets…” I urged the farm workers to do what the police officer at the airport did if she comes to our region. Do what the police officer at the airport did. She will only fix her error then…
Accusations of Bad Comments
Alagiri said what he did because he met with farm laborers who told him that Ranaut had said bad things about women who worked in their fields. Alagiri says that the farmers said that Ranaut made rude statements at a news conference, such as saying that women who work on farms “would come anywhere for ₹100.”
“Yesterday, 10 to 15 farmers came to me and told me that Kangana Ranaut once said at a press conference that women who work in agriculture are working on weak land…” I couldn’t believe it. Why is this woman, who is a sitting MP, saying bad things about women who work in agriculture? They come from the countryside in India… Alagiri said.
Kangana Ranaut’s Answer
Kangana Ranaut replied that what one individual thinks doesn’t matter in response to Alagiri’s incendiary comments. She said that a lot of people adore her and that no one can stop her from going where she wants to go.
“I played J Jayalalitha in a movie, and you won’t believe that even the Opposition MPs called me ‘thalaivi’ once. They love me that much.” She remarked, “One person saying something won’t change anything.”
