New Delhi [India], December 10: Congress leader Pawan Khera sharply criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that the opposition would persist in raising the Gautam Adani indictment issue. Khera alleged that the BJP’s silence on the matter indicated they had “everything to hide.”
“The BJP thinks that bringing up George Soros will trap us. It’s laughable. We will continue to raise the Gautam Adani issue because we have nothing to hide. The BJP, however, has everything to explain,” Khera said in a video statement on Monday.
Congress Questions BJP Leaders’ Links
Khera also raised questions about the “relationship” between Union Minister S Jaishankar’s son, Dhruv Jaishankar, and the Aspen Institute in Washington, as well as the German Marshall Fund, linking these organizations to George Soros.
“You [BJP] should explain how BJP leaders’ children studying abroad get their scholarships and how many work in institutions funded by George Soros,” Khera demanded.
The Congress leader’s comments come amid parliamentary disruptions, with the opposition demanding discussions on the Adani issue and the BJP accusing Congress of ties with foreign forces.
BJP Alleges Congress Links with Soros
BJP leader Tarun Chugh responded by accusing Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi of having links to George Soros’ foundation, claiming Congress was becoming a “tool of forces” seeking to destabilize the country.
Chugh alleged that Sonia Gandhi, as co-president of the Forum of Democratic Leaders in the Asia-Pacific (FDL-AP), was linked to an organization financed by Soros. He claimed the foundation has advocated for treating Kashmir as a separate entity.
“The BJP will expose the anti-national credentials of the Gandhi family and Congress’ nefarious designs in Jammu and Kashmir,” Chugh stated, adding that such attempts would fail against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a global leader.
Parliament Disruptions Continue
Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned on Monday amid heated exchanges between the ruling and opposition parties. While the BJP intensified its attack on Congress over alleged foreign links, opposition members accused the government of stalling parliamentary proceedings to avoid discussions on national issues, including Adani.
The Winter Session of Parliament, which commenced on November 25, has been marked by frequent adjournments and disruptions over contentious issues.
