Congress-BJP Clash In Parliament: Allegations Of Misconduct And Chaos

The Parliament witnessed unprecedented turmoil on Thursday, with Congress and BJP leaders accusing each other of misconduct, reflecting the growing tensions between the ruling and opposition parties during the ongoing session.

Congress Alleges Misconduct

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari alleged that women MPs from his party were barred from entering Parliament and were pushed during the commotion.

“For the first time in the history of democracy, the BJP government did not allow the House to function for the first week,” Tiwari claimed. He added, “Our women MPs who were moving in a single line were stopped and pushed. Even our 83-year-old Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was pushed down.”

Tiwari accused the BJP-led government of “fascist behaviour” and a lack of respect for democratic norms.

BJP Condemns Rahul Gandhi’s Alleged Actions

Meanwhile, several BJP MPs criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his alleged role in the ruckus, accusing him of arrogance and disregard for parliamentary protocols.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur stated, “The arrogance of Rahul Gandhi and his attitude towards fellow MPs is very unfortunate. He created a ruckus, violated rules, and displayed a lack of concern for injured MPs. His statement that ‘pushing and shoving happens’ reflects his dismissive attitude.”

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj accused Gandhi of ignoring repeated warnings from security forces. She stated, “Despite being urged to take an alternate route, Rahul Gandhi deliberately passed through a peaceful protest by our MPs, resulting in injuries to two of our colleagues. His behavior towards Nagaland MP Phangnon Konyak was particularly shameful, and he owes an apology.”

Growing Rift in Parliament

The clash highlights the escalating tension between the Congress-led opposition and the BJP government. While Congress has accused the BJP of undermining democratic principles, the BJP has dismissed these claims, instead pointing fingers at the opposition for disrupting parliamentary proceedings.

The ruckus in Parliament is likely to further deepen the political divide, as both sides continue to trade allegations, hindering constructive debate and legislative progress in the ongoing session.
