New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reiterated India’s dedication to conserving water and promoting sustainable development on the occasion of World Water Day.
Emphasizing the crucial role of water in civilization, he called for collective efforts to safeguard this invaluable resource for future generations.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Government of Haryana, is set to launch the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: ‘Catch the Rain – 2025’ as part of World Water Day celebrations.
The campaign, themed “Peoples’ Action for Water Conservation – Towards Intensified Community Connect,” highlights the significance of water security, rainwater harvesting, and groundwater recharge in tackling climate change and water scarcity.
Focusing on 148 districts across India, the initiative aims to enhance coordination between government agencies, communities, and stakeholders to ensure the sustainable management of water resources.
The Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain – 2025 seeks to drive nationwide awareness and action for water conservation, reinforcing the vision that “Every Drop Counts.” Citizens are encouraged to actively participate in securing India’s water future through innovative solutions and grassroots involvement.
World Water Day, observed annually on March 22 since 1993, is a United Nations initiative that underscores the importance of freshwater. A key focus of the observance is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: Water and sanitation for all by 2030.
