New York [US], July 14: Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has been crowned the Best Player of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup 2025, following a standout performance in the final where Chelsea stunned Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in New Jersey on Monday.
Palmer was instrumental in the Blues’ dominant first-half display, scoring twice and assisting once to seal a well-deserved Player of the Match award. Over the course of the tournament, the 23-year-old registered three goals and two assists, playing a vital role in Chelsea’s historic run to the title, according to Olympics.com.

Just eight minutes later, Palmer struck again — this time collecting a deep ball and delivering a near-identical finish, giving Chelsea a commanding 2-0 lead before halftime.
The night worsened for PSG when João Neves was sent off with a straight red card in the 85th minute for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair.
A Season to Remember:
The Club World Cup victory adds another trophy to Chelsea’s growing silverware collection, following their UEFA Conference League triumph in May. It also marks an impressive debut campaign for Italian manager Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
