Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called on Governor Anandiben Patel in Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
CM Adityanath also chaired a meeting of his cabinet in Lucknow. The meeting was called for the upcoming assembly by-elections in the state.
Earlier on Wednesday, the CM reviewed the preparations for the holy Kanwar Yatra, which begins on July 22, and provided necessary guidelines. The meeting was attended by ministers of water, power, urban development, energy, and the PWD.
Directing the PWD, Irrigation and Urban Development Department, the chief minister said that the remaining repairing works of roads across districts falling along the Kanwar Yatra route should be completed in the next 72 hours.
The Chief Minister said that the entire Kanwar Yatra route should be kept clean throughout the month of ‘Sawan’. There should be no dirt or waterlogging anywhere. Ensure solid waste management, as well as good lighting on the entire Kanwar Yatra route. For this, additional street lights should be installed and arrangements made for transformers, he directed.
The Chief Minister asked them to set up assistance camps for the help of the general public along the Yatra route. Arrangements should also be made for the distribution of cold drinking water, lemonade, etc.
Take the help of social organizations in setting up of camps, but verify the credentials of those operating it. The Yatra route should be monitored using drones, and flowers should be showered on devotees on important occasions, the CM said.
The Chief Minister said that the DJ should be played by Kanwariyas as per the prescribed standards and the height of the DJ must not exceed the set limit.
The Chief Minister said that a large number of devotees visit Shiva temples in urban areas of Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bareilly, Ayodhya, Basti, Prayagraj, Kashi, Barabanki etc. The local administration should manage the crowd in Shiva temples by communicating with the temple management.
He also mentioned receiving reports of dead animals flowing in the Ganga canal and instructed officials to ensure that it stops immediately.
