Dehradun (Uttarakhand): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday tuned in to the 123rd edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’, praising the inspiring messages on yoga, women empowerment, and social unity.
Listening from his official residence, CM Dhami highlighted the Prime Minister’s role in giving India a distinct global identity and applauded the emphasis on initiatives like International Yoga Day, women-led development, and social security.
“PM Modi’s message once again reminded us of India’s spiritual and social strength. The fact that India is now trachoma-free and has brought 64% of its population under social security is a testament to his leadership,” said CM Dhami.
🌍 Empowering India Through Women
In the latest edition of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi spotlighted grassroots women entrepreneurs shaping a new India through enterprise and resilience.
Highlights from PM Modi’s address:
- Telangana (Bhadrachalam): Women once working as farm labourers are now making affordable sanitary pads, sold as far as London, after training via Self Help Groups (SHGs).
- Karnataka (Kalaburagi): Women created a “Jowar Roti” brand selling over 3,000 rotis daily across Bengaluru and through online platforms.
- Madhya Pradesh (Balaghat): Suma Uike, trained in mushroom farming and animal husbandry, grew her enterprise into Didi Canteen and a Thermal Therapy Centre.
“These stories radiate self-confidence and self-reliance. From Telangana to Karnataka to Madhya Pradesh, India’s women are rewriting the country’s future,” said PM Modi.
🧘♀️ Yoga for the World
The PM and CM both underlined the global success of International Yoga Day (June 21). Dhami said it was yet another moment of pride, showing India’s cultural influence reaching across the globe.
🇮🇳 Unity in Diversity
CM Dhami also appreciated the program’s message of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, calling on citizens of Uttarakhand to embrace local products, spiritual values, and the collective national vision.
“This program unites us all. We should reflect these values in our everyday lives and help make Uttarakhand a model of prosperity and self-reliance,” Dhami urged.
The PM’s radio program continues to serve as a bridge between governance and grassroots, with this episode especially spotlighting the power of women, wellness, and unity in driving India forward.
