CM Pushkar Dhami Leads ‘Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra’ In Haldwani To Honour Operation Sindoor

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led a spirited ‘Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra’ in Haldwani on Saturday, expressing gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces for the resounding success of Operation Sindoor, India’s recent counter-terror military response following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

The rally, which started from Mini Stadium and concluded at Shaheed Park, saw the participation of enthusiastic BJP workers, veterans, and locals, all waving the national flag in tribute to the Armed Forces. The event was part of the BJP’s nationwide ‘Tiranga Yatra’, running from May 13 to May 23, to honour India’s military and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their decisive response to cross-border terrorism.

Cabinet Praises Armed Forces and PM Modi

Ahead of the yatra, the Uttarakhand Council of Ministers held a meeting on Friday, where a unanimous resolution was passed congratulating the Indian Army, PM Narendra Modi, and the Ministry of Defence for their strategic excellence and courage.

“Operation Sindoor reflects the success of the indomitable courage, immense valour and excellent strategic skills of the Indian Army. This campaign has emerged as a living example of India’s sovereignty, security and self-confidence,” the resolution stated.

The ministers further expressed confidence that this military operation would inspire future generations and be remembered as a “golden chapter in Indian military history.”

India’s Firm Stand After Pahalgam Attack

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, including one Nepali national. In precision air and ground strikes, India targeted and destroyed key terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Notable targets included:

  • Bahawalpur – Headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed
  • Muridke – Lashkar-e-Taiba’s main training hub

Nearly 100 terrorists were neutralized during the operation, making it one of the most effective counter-terror missions in recent years. Following the operation, a cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced on May 10.

Tiranga Yatra: A National Tribute

The BJP has organised similar Tiranga Yatras across key cities including Lucknow, Dibrugarh, Mumbai, Srinagar, and Bhubaneswar. These rallies aim to mobilize nationalistic sentiment and reinforce public support for India’s military efforts to defend its sovereignty.

As the yatra marches forward across the country, the echoes of Operation Sindoor and the sacrifices of India’s armed forces continue to resonate with the people.
