Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India]: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has brought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Shramev Jayate’ mantra to life by inaugurating the first Shramik Suvidha Kendra in Ahmedabad. This initiative marks a significant step in celebrating two successful years of the Bhupendra Patel-led government. According to a press release from the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), this Kendra is a special gift for the workers of the state.

The Shramik Suvidha Kendra provides essential facilities such as food, tea, snacks, seating arrangements, and washrooms for workers engaged in employment and contractual labor in Kadiyanaka. The state government plans to establish similar centers across Gujarat, including ten in Ahmedabad. Besides offering basic amenities, the Kendra will serve as a meeting point for labor contractors and workers to coordinate wages and work. Previously, workers at Kadiyanaka had to wait on public roads without shelter, but this center will now protect them from extreme weather, the release noted.
During the inauguration, the Chief Minister also launched Ahmedabad’s 99th and Gujarat’s 291st Shramik Annapurna Kendra. He visited the facility and served food to laborers, showcasing his government’s commitment to honoring and supporting workers. The state plans to set up an additional 99 Shramik Annapurna Kendras throughout Gujarat.
Under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s leadership, Gujarat continues to reinforce its dedication to labor welfare by providing workers with meals, refreshments, and comfortable spaces to rest and interact, the press release added.
“Shramik Annapurna Center has also been started at the place where Shramik Suvidha Kendra was launched today in Ahmedabad’s Naroda Ward. This is the 99th Shramik Annapurna center in Ahmedabad and the 291st in the state. On today’s occasion, the opportunity to go to Shramik Annapurna Kendra and serve food to the workers with affection became very touching,” the CM shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The event witnessed the presence of Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, Deputy Mayor Jatin Patel, Ahmedabad Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani, Municipal Commissioner M. Thennarasan, local MLA Payal Kukrani, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation officials, police personnel, workers, and area residents, as mentioned in the release.
