A cloudburst in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district late Wednesday night caused a lot of devastation, with landslides and debris inflicting a lot of damage and leaving more than a dozen people missing. Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, said on Thursday that at least 14 persons are missing and 20 have been hurt in the accident.
According to the district magistrate, the cloudburst hit the Nandanagar Ghat region and buried several houses in the Kuntri Langafali ward of the town. The torrential rains also caused landslides in the villages of Kuntri Lagafali and Dhurma. This led to the quick deployment of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to help with rescue and relief efforts.

Debris destroyed more than 30 homes in the communities of Kuntari Lagaphali, Kuntari Lagasarpani, Sera, and Dhurma.
More than 200 people in the area have been touched by the calamity.
Sandeep Tiwari, the Chamoli District Magistrate, said that at least eight people are missing from Kuntari Lagaphali village, including four members of the same family. Two more individuals are missing from Dhurma village.
CM Dhami held a video conference to look over the situation and told officials to make sure that the damaged roads, drinking water supplies, and electricity were all fixed right away.
He also told them to make sure that the impacted residents had enough food, shelter, and medical help.
There are now search and rescue activities going on in the impacted areas. Both NDRF and SDRF workers are looking for the missing people and helping the injured. The state is still on high alert as officials try to lessen the damage caused by the calamity.
