Washington, DC, July 2: A teaser for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film, The Odyssey, has reportedly leaked online across platforms like X (formerly Twitter), after its exclusive theatrical debut ahead of Jurassic World: Rebirth, according to Variety.
Nolan’s latest epic marks his first feature since the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer and continues his tradition of offering audiences a first glimpse well in advance of the film’s official release—this time, over a year out.
The 70-second teaser showcases Matt Damon in the lead role as Odysseus, with Tom Holland playing his son Telemachus. The clip opens with a haunting voiceover that appears to be delivered by Robert Pattinson, hinting at a mythic tone:
“Darkness. Zeus’s laws were smashed to pieces. A kingdom without a king since my master died.”
Cinematic visuals flash across the screen—crashing waves, a shadowy shoreline, and a brief but dramatic glimpse of the Trojan Horse, affirming that the story will draw heavily from Homer’s The Odyssey. The narrative centers on Odysseus’s perilous journey home after the Trojan War, battling gods, monsters, and fate itself.
Also joining the star-studded cast are Jon Bernthal, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Elliot Page, among others.
The film is still in production and is notable for being the first large-scale movie shot entirely with IMAX cameras, pushing Nolan’s visual storytelling to new technical heights.
While an official online release of the teaser is expected later this year, the leak echoes past high-profile incidents involving early footage from films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and HBO’s House of the Dragon.
