New Delhi [India]: On New Year’s Eve, Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and Shashi Tripathi, President of the Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), engaged in a heartfelt interaction via video conference with Lieutenant Commander Dilna and Lieutenant Commander Roopa, the courageous crew of Navika Sagar Parikrama-II.
The conversation highlighted the officers’ remarkable journey aboard the Indian Navy Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, as they continue their historic circumnavigation of the globe. Admiral Tripathi lauded their exceptional skill and perseverance, noting their resilience in navigating some of the world’s most challenging maritime routes.
“Their determination is a testament to the capability and spirit of our officers, particularly women, who are setting unparalleled milestones in naval expeditions,” Admiral Tripathi remarked.

Progress of Navika Sagar Parikrama-II
The INSV Tarini departed Fremantle, Australia, on November 24 for the second leg of the expedition, heading to Lyttelton, New Zealand. An enthusiastic crowd bid farewell to the vessel, cheering for a safe and successful journey.
Navika Sagar Parikrama-II (NSP-II) was flagged off by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on October 2 and is a dual-handed circumnavigation mission. The expedition, undertaken by two women officers aboard the 56-foot INSV Tarini, showcases the Indian Navy’s commitment to breaking barriers and promoting gender equality in maritime operations.
