New Delhi [India]: Devotees across India gathered in temples to offer prayers on the seventh day of Chaitra Navratri, marking the worship of Mata Kaalratri, the fiercest form of Goddess Durga. Special morning Aartis were performed at prominent temples, including Jhandewalan Temple and Shri Aadya Katyayani Shaktipith Mandir (Chhatarpur Temple) in Delhi.
Mata Kaalratri: The Fearless Protector
🔹 Mata Kaalratri, the seventh form of Navdurga, represents destruction of evil and protection from darkness.
🔹 Devotees pray to her for courage, strength, and removal of obstacles.
🔹 It is believed that offering jaggery (gur) to the Goddess today brings prosperity and blessings.
Significance of Chaitra Navratri
Chaitra Navratri, also called Ram Navratri, is dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine avatars (Navdurga). The festival concludes on Ram Navami, which marks the birth of Lord Ram.
🔹 Two major Navratris are celebrated in India:
- Chaitra Navratri (Spring)
- Shardiya Navratri (Autumn)
🔹 Devotees observe fasts, perform pujas, and chant Durga Saptashati to seek divine blessings.
