Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 21: CCTV cameras are being installed at Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence after an intruder attempted a theft and attacked the actor early Thursday morning.
In the footage, two individuals were seen setting up CCTV cameras on the balcony of the actor’s home. One of them was seen climbing an air conditioner’s condenser to install the cameras on the ceiling.
The incident occurred when an intruder, later identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, attempted to steal from the actor’s home. During a confrontation with the housemaid, Saif intervened and sustained stab wounds to his thoracic spine.
The accused was arrested by Mumbai Police on February 19. He was later taken to the scene of the crime, including Saif’s Bandra residence and other locations, to recreate the events.
On the morning of January 16, during the attack, the intruder reportedly entered the house and attacked Saif, who sustained serious injuries. According to the police, various teams have been formed to investigate the case, which has been registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The accused, who was attempting to flee to his native village in Bangladesh, was apprehended at Hiranandani Estate in Thane. He is currently under police custody.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital. The actor has reportedly moved from the ICU to a regular room after a successful surgery to remove a 2.5-inch-long blade. Doctors have confirmed he is in stable condition and recovering well. He is expected to be discharged soon.
