New Delhi (India), February 17: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted allegations of paper leaks in the ongoing Class 10 and 12 board exams, calling such claims “baseless” and accusing certain individuals of attempting to create panic among students and parents.
The CBSE board exams commenced on Saturday, with over 42 lakh students taking exams across more than 7,800 centres in India and abroad. Of these, 24.12 lakh Class 10 students are appearing for exams in 84 subjects, while 17.88 lakh Class 12 students are taking exams in 120 subjects.
In an official statement, the CBSE emphasized that rumors about paper leaks or access to the 2025 examination question papers circulating on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and others are unfounded. The board further assured students and parents that these false claims are meant solely to create unnecessary anxiety.
The statement clarified, “It has come to the Board’s attention that certain unscrupulous elements are spreading rumors regarding paper leaks. These claims are baseless and are intended to create unnecessary panic.”
The CBSE also assured that strict measures have been put in place to maintain the fairness and integrity of the examination process. The Board warned that anyone found involved in such activities would face penalties under CBSE’s Unfair Means rules and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Additionally, the Board is collaborating with law enforcement agencies to investigate and take action against those responsible for spreading false information. “CBSE will pursue legal action against anyone found responsible for spreading misinformation to uphold the integrity of the examination process,” the statement added.
CBSE urged students, parents, and schools to rely solely on official communications from the CBSE website (www.cbse.gov.in) and other verified public channels, advising against engaging with unverified or false news.
