The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued a summons to Kalvakuntla Kavitha, president of Telangana Jagruthi, in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy case. She has been asked to appear before the Delhi High Court on March 16.
Kavitha is the daughter of K. Chandrasekhar Rao, former Chief Minister of Telangana.
CBI Team Reaches Kavitha’s Residence
According to officials, a CBI team visited Kavitha’s residence in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana, India on Thursday afternoon to serve the notice.
Since Kavitha was reportedly unwell at the time, the summons was handed over to her husband Anil Kumar.

Along with Kavitha, the CBI also issued notices to several individuals linked to the case, including:
- Arun Ramachandra Pillai (businessman)
- Abhishek Boinpally (businessman)
- Sharat Reddy (businessman)
- Magunta Srinivas Reddy, MP from Telugu Desam Party
Background of the Case
The Delhi liquor policy case relates to alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the 2021–22 excise policy in New Delhi.
Investigating agencies claim the policy allowed certain liquor businesses to gain undue advantages through alleged kickbacks and lobbying.
Both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate have been investigating the case, which has led to multiple arrests and summons of political leaders, businessmen and officials.
