Case Filed Against TVK Leader Aadhav Arjuna Over Post Urging “Gen Z Resistance”

Chennai: A case has been registered against Aadhav Arjuna, campaign management general secretary of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), after a controversial social media post urged Tamil Nadu’s youth and “Gen Z” to rise against the government.

The post, uploaded on X (formerly Twitter) and later deleted, came less than 48 hours after the Karur stampede at Vijay’s rally, which claimed 41 lives.

According to police, a case has been booked at the North Zone Cyber Crime Police Station under 47/2025 u/s 192, 196(1)(b), 197(1)(d), 353(1)(b) and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

A screenshot of the deleted post has gone viral on social media. In it, Arjuna urged the “youth and Gen Z” to unite and start a revolution against authority, sparking widespread criticism.

The case adds to the mounting political and legal troubles for TVK following the Karur rally tragedy, which has already drawn scrutiny over poor crowd control and safety lapses.
