Cardi B Reveals Why She Turned Down The Super Bowl Halftime Show

On Friday, September 19, 2025, Cardi B will release her highly anticipated second album, Am I the Drama? This will be a big moment in music. The record comes out more than seven years after her first album, Invasion of Privacy, which won a Grammy.

Cardi B told Billboard in a recent interview that she was asked to be in a prior Super Bowl Halftime Show but turned it down. There were two reasons why she said no. In 2019, she first said no to the chance to stand alongside former NFL player Colin Kaepernick, who was protesting police brutality and systematic racism. She told the magazine more recently that she wants to wait till she has an even bigger list of hits before going on what she thinks is one of the largest stages in the world.

The rapper is really focused on her next album. She just won a $24 million civil lawsuit, which means she can now focus on making new music. Is it me that’s causing the drama? will have 23 songs, including the number one hits “WAP” and “Up” that have already come out. “Outside” (June 20, 2025) and “Imaginary Playerz” (August 15, 2025) are two new singles from the album that she has also put out.

Cardi B has been teasing the album’s graphics, which have a dark, dramatic look with black birds. She has also said that a tour to accompany the new music will be revealed soon after the album comes out.
