August 2, 2025: The long-standing feud between musicians Cardi B and Rah Ali has reignited, with the two reportedly getting into a heated verbal altercation at an airport in Cannes. The incident has led to conflicting accounts from both parties, with Cardi B claiming she retaliated for a past physical attack while Rah Ali denies any physical contact.
During an X Spaces session, Cardi B, a native of the Bronx, claimed that she threw a JBL portable speaker at Ali’s head after a tense staredown. The “Outside” artist explained that she felt compelled to “get her lick back” for a 2018 altercation at a Harper’s BAZAAR party, where Ali, alongside Nicki Minaj’s security, allegedly attacked her. “I can’t live and die knowing that somebody did put they hands on me and I never did nothing back,” Cardi said.
Rah Ali, however, offered a different version of events on social media. While admitting to an argument, she claimed that Cardi B threw shoes and bags, not a speaker. Ali wrote on X, “had anyone in this whole world hit ME in my head with a speaker, you in fact would be viewing footage of me in handcuffs. I promise to God that did not happen.” She concluded by saying she would not be “on this app acting a fool” and encouraged people to believe Cardi’s version if it made her feel better.
The feud dates back to the 2018 incident, a fight which Nicki Minaj famously described on her Queen Radio show, claiming that Rah Ali “really, really beat Cardi’s ass bad.”
