CAPF Exams Now Available in Regional Languages, Announces Amit Shah at CISF’s 56th Raising Day

Ranipet (Tamil Nadu) [India]: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that candidates can now write the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) examination in all regional languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, including Tamil. This move, part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, aims to promote regional languages and ensure equal opportunities for youth across India.

Amit Shah made the announcement while inaugurating several infrastructure and development projects during the 56th Raising Day of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Arakkonam, Ranipet. He also released the CISF journal, ‘Sentinel,’ and reviewed a parade at the event.

1. CAPF Exams in Regional Languages:

  • Amit Shah highlighted that until now, CAPF recruitment did not accommodate regional languages.
  • He said, “PM Narendra Modi decided that our youth will now be able to write their CAPF exam in all languages in the Eighth Schedule, including Tamil.”
  • Shah urged the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to introduce medical and engineering courses in Tamil to strengthen the mother tongue and offer equal opportunities to Tamil-speaking students.

2. CISF’s Role in National Security:

  • Over the past 56 years, CISF has been crucial in safeguarding industrial hubs, trade, tourism, and research centers across India.
  • Amit Shah praised CISF’s contributions to security at airports, the new Parliament building, the Delhi Metro, and marine safety, ensuring the safety of 1 crore people daily.
  • CISF’s marine security responsibilities will expand to cover nearly 250 ports in the country.

3. Vision for India’s Growth:

  • Amit Shah reiterated PM Modi’s vision of making India the third-largest economy by 2027 and achieving the status of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047.

  • Amit Shah paid tribute to 127 CISF jawans who died in the line of duty.
  • 22 jawans were honored at the event:

    • 10 jawans were awarded Gallantry Medals.
  • 6 projects worth Rs. 88 crores were inaugurated for the welfare of CISF personnel.

5. CAPF Recruitment Updates:

  • In 2024, over 14,000 posts have been filled under CAPF.
  • Recruitment for 50,000 youth is ongoing, with over 1 lakh youth already recruited in the past year.

6. Celebrating CISF’s Contributions:

  • The tradition of celebrating CISF Raising Day outside Delhi was initiated in 2019 to recognize the force’s contribution nationwide.
  • Amit Shah commended Tamil Nadu for its role in preserving Indian culture and highlighted the state’s significance in national security.
