A group of guys in Gurugram’s Udyog Vihar Phase 4 are said to have battered a 30-year-old cab driver named Vikas Kumar to death early Saturday morning after a fight late at night. Since then, police have arrested a person in connection with the deadly attack.
Vikas Kumar, who is from Khagadia in Bihar, was at his buddy Anil’s tea stall in Udyog Vihar Phase 4 on Friday night. When Titu, a friend of Vikas’s, came up to him to chat about drinking alcohol, a fight broke out.
Police say that the altercation quickly got out of hand because of a supposed money issue. Vikas shoved Titu and told him to leave the stand. Titu did, but only for a short while.
Deadly Attack and Police Response
Around 2:30 AM, things got deadly when Titu came back with his brother-in-law Akash and two other young men. The gang called Vikas outside the slum next door and got into a furious quarrel.
As the fight got worse, the four accused are said to have hit Vikas with sticks and bricks, leaving him in serious condition. He was sent to a private hospital nearby right away, but sadly, he was pronounced dead when he got there.
Urmila, the wife of Vikas’s friend Anil, made a complaint with the Udyog Vihar police station. An FIR was filed against Titu, Akash, and two other people whose names are not known under the appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A high-ranking police official said that they have arrested one suspect and are now questioning him. “We gave the body to the family after the autopsy, and there is still an investigation going on.” “The officer said, “All of the accused will be arrested soon.”
