Budgam (Jammu and Kashmir), July 16: In a significant blow to terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, Budgam Police on Wednesday attached three properties belonging to Pakistan-based terrorist handlers in different areas of the Budgam district, according to official sources.
The operation, conducted in the presence of executive magistrates, targeted properties located in Khag, Chewa Beerwah, and Harwani Khansahib.
Properties Attached:
- Double-storied house and premises at Harwani Khansahib, registered under Khasra No. 763, belonging to Manzoor Ahmad Chopan alias Rayees.
- Double-storied house and land (5 Kanals, 13 Marlas) in Chewa Budgam, under Khasra No. 151, owned by Mohammad Yousuf Malik alias Molvi.
- 19.5 Marlas of land in Khag, under Khasra Nos. 1093 and 1094, owned by Bilal Ahmad Wani alias Umer.
Legal Basis:
The action was taken under FIR No. 58/2024 at Police Station Khag, under relevant sections of the Indian Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Proceedings were initiated under Section 25 of UAPA, which allows for the attachment of properties used for or linked to terrorist activity.
Official Statement:
According to the Kashmir Police, the three individuals are terrorist handlers operating from Pakistan, and have been involved in orchestrating and facilitating terrorist operations in Kashmir for years.
“The attachment of their properties is a part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle the logistical, financial, and operational networks of terror outfits and their cross-border sponsors,” police said in an official release.
The statement emphasized that this move sends a strong warning to all individuals and networks involved in anti-national and terror-related activities.
