BTS’ Suga Returns to Weverse Live After Two Years, Sends ARMY Into Frenzy by Introducing Cat ‘Sugar’

BTS member Suga sent the internet into a meltdown after making a surprise return to live broadcasting for the first time in nearly two years. The rapper went live on Weverse on Sunday, marking his first direct interaction with fans since completing his military service.

Dressed in an all-black outfit and wearing glasses, Suga appeared relaxed and cheerful as he greeted fans. The biggest surprise of the live session came when he introduced his black cat to ARMY. He revealed that the cat’s name is Tang, which translates to “Sugar,” instantly winning hearts online.

During the short but emotional live, Suga also shared a warm message with fans, urging them to take care of their health during the cold weather. He reassured ARMY that he would return again soon, further fueling excitement about his post-military comeback.

Fans across the world reacted with overwhelming enthusiasm. Several clips surfaced online showing ARMYs squealing, cheering, and even tearing up the moment they received the notification that Yoongi had gone live. Many fans admitted they had to double-check the alert, unable to believe Suga was finally back on their screens.

Suga began his social service on September 22, 2023, and completed his mandatory duty in June this year. His return comes as BTS members gradually reunite following their respective military discharges. Jin was discharged in June 2024, J-Hope in October 2024, while RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook completed their service last week.

Recently, most BTS members were seen supporting J-Hope at his concert in Seoul, further raising anticipation for the group’s long-awaited full reunion after more than two and a half years.
