Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati will visit Bihar’s Kaimur district on Thursday, November 6, to address a crucial election rally for the ongoing Assembly elections.
The rally, scheduled for the afternoon, will be held at a ground near the Bhabua airstrip. The party anticipates a large turnout, with supporters expected to converge from Kaimur and neighboring districts and assembly constituencies.
BSP’s Solo Strategy
The rally comes just ahead of the first phase of polling in Bihar. The BSP has made clear its intention to fight the Bihar Assembly elections alone, contesting on “nearly all seats” in the state.
- Polling Dates: The first phase of polling is scheduled for Thursday, November 6, while the second phase will be held on November 11.
- Counting Date: The results will be declared on November 14, 2025.
Kaimur district, where Mayawati is holding the rally, is strategically significant for the BSP, as the party has historically shown pockets of strength in the region. The BSP was the first party to announce candidates for some constituencies in Kaimur, including Bhabua, Mohania, and Ramgarh.
Campaign Leadership
The party’s campaign in Bihar has been spearheaded by senior leadership, including BSP national coordinator and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam, national coordinator Anil Singh, and national convenor Akash Anand.
The BSP is looking to improve its performance from the last election, where it contested 78 seats and won only one—Chainpur (also in Kaimur/nearby area)—whose MLA later switched to the ruling Janata Dal (United). By contesting independently on nearly all 243 seats, the party aims to establish its presence across the state.
