Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]: Security has been intensified in the Ranbir Singh Pura (RS Pura) sector of Jammu following a foiled infiltration attempt by an intruder trying to cross the International Border (IB), the Border Security Force (BSF) said.
In a statement, the PRO BSF Jammu confirmed that the intruder was neutralised after repeated warnings were ignored.
“On the intervening night of April 4 and 5, 2025, BSF troops observed a suspicious movement across the IB (International Border) in the Jammu border area and an intruder was observed crossing the IB. He was challenged by the BSF troops but paid no heed and kept on moving. BSF troops, sensing the threat, neutralised the intruder. The identity and motive of the intruder are being ascertained,” said the PRO BSF Jammu.
A flag meeting with counterpart authorities has been requested, where the BSF will officially register a protest against the infiltration attempt.
The intruder was first observed making suspicious movements in the border area. Despite being challenged by the alert BSF personnel, the individual continued moving toward the Indian side, prompting the troops to take action in neutralising the threat. The matter is currently under investigation, with efforts underway to identify the intruder and uncover his motive.
This incident follows another recent case in Amritsar district, where BSF personnel detected a suspicious individual crossing the international border near Bharopal village. The person was apprehended after being challenged by the BSF and later identified himself as a Pakistani national.
Both incidents reflect heightened tensions and the BSF’s readiness in safeguarding India’s borders from illegal entry or potential threats.
