The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has made a big decision by kicking K. Kavitha, a member of the Legislative Council, out of the party. The announcement on Tuesday said that “anti-party activities” were the reason for her departure.
A media release signed by party General Secretary T. Ravinder Rao and another General Secretary (in charge of disciplinary matters) Soma Bharat Kumar says that BRS President and Kavitha’s father, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, ordered the suspension. The announcement made it clear that the ban starts right away.
The official message said that Kavitha’s recent actions and behavior in general had been bad for the BRS. It also said that the party’s leaders are taking the issue very seriously. Even if the exact “anti-party activities” weren’t explained, the move shows that there is a big split inside the BRS and its top officials.
