Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar has accused the Congress government in Telangana, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, of launching a “malicious and false campaign” aimed at destabilising the BRS and misleading the public. He alleged that the Congress is resorting to “mudslinging” after failing to fulfill its electoral promises.
Speaking to media, Kumar said, “The Revanth Reddy government has completely failed to deliver on its electoral commitments. Now, instead of governance, they are indulging in false propaganda, claiming that senior BRS leaders are defecting from the party.”
He further accused the government of manipulating social media to circulate misleading information:
“He talks about fairness and transparency, but is using paid Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp handles to spread this campaign. This is an orchestrated attempt to damage BRS.”
Kumar confirmed that the party has lodged a formal complaint with the cybercrime police in Hyderabad, seeking action against the accounts involved in the alleged smear campaign. “These are verified handles. We are appealing for strict action against these culprits misusing freedom of speech,” he stated.
The accusations come shortly after BRS celebrated its 25th anniversary, during which party founder and former CM K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) lashed out at the Congress for what he called decades of betrayal towards the people of Telangana.
“Congress didn’t give us Telangana. It was earned through sacrifice and struggle. They systematically crushed our dreams. But we won — not because of them, but in spite of them,” KCR said at the event, drawing parallels between Telangana’s identity and Ayodhya’s significance to Lord Rama.
He also pointed to growing public discontent and protests against the current Congress regime, citing issues like financial mismanagement and unfulfilled promises.
