Brij Bhushan Singh Admits to Killing Man, Shows No Regret in Interview

Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has made startling claims in a recent interview, asserting that he killed a man in what he described as “self-defense” or revenge for the shooting of a friend.

Speaking to anchor Chitra Tripathi, Singh recounted:

“A friend of mine was shot. As soon as he turned towards me with his gun, I shot him back. You can call it self-defense or revenge, but I have killed one man.”

When asked if he had served any punishment or felt regret, Singh was unequivocal:

“Koi pachtaava nahi. Aapko koi maarde, toh main usko na maaru? (I have no regrets. If someone hits you, should I not hit back?)”

Context:

  • Singh served as WFI president from 2011 to 2023, a period marked by international wrestling success for India.
  • His tenure ended amid allegations of sexual harassment by multiple women wrestlers, sparking nationwide protests and scrutiny of sports governance in India.
  • Beyond wrestling, Singh is a long-time political figure, having been re-elected multiple times as a BJP MP.

This revelation comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of Singh, reigniting debates around accountability and governance in Indian sports administration.
