Actor Bradley Whitford will join the cast of The Diplomat for its highly anticipated third season, playing the role of the husband to Allison Janney’s character, Vice President Grace Penn. As reported by Variety, Penn’s character takes on the role of the US President following the unexpected death of President William Rayburn (played by Michael McKean) in the Season 2 finale, making Whitford’s character the First Gentleman.
West Wing Reunion
Fans of The West Wing will be excited to see the reunion between Whitford and Janney, who starred together in the iconic NBC political drama. Janney portrayed Press Secretary CJ Cregg, while Whitford played Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman.
