The actors, who have personally experienced the battle with cancer, shared their inspiring journeys and underscored the significance of government initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat and PMJAY in making cancer care more accessible.
Tahira Kashyap, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, emphasized the vital role of early diagnosis and the availability of affordable treatment through government programs. She lauded the Ayushman Bharat and PMJAY initiatives for making timely cancer treatment accessible to millions, irrespective of their financial background. She stated, “Cancer is a journey that tests your strength, resilience, and faith. Early diagnosis and affordable treatment are key to survival.”
Sonali Bendre, a survivor of high-grade cancer, also spoke about her own experience and the significance of early detection. She hailed Ayushman Bharat as a game-changer in enabling families to access cancer treatment and important early screenings. Sonali said, “Early detection is crucial, but for many, access to quality healthcare has been a significant barrier. Initiatives like Ayushman Bharat are breaking down these financial barriers.”
Emraan Hashmi, whose son Ayan was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, shared his emotional journey, reflecting on how the experience changed their lives. He highlighted the critical role of early screening and timely treatment. “We discovered how crucial early detection and timely treatment are in this battle,” Emraan said, urging everyone to get screened regularly.
