Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 14 – The passing of veteran actor Deb Mukherjee on Friday saw several Bollywood personalities gather at the residence of director Ayan Mukherjee to offer their condolences. Among the first to arrive was veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, who was seen hugging and comforting Kajol, who had just lost her uncle.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who share a close relationship with Ayan, were also spotted at the residence, offering their support to the filmmaker during this difficult time. Other celebrities, including Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Lalit Pandit, and Kiran Rao, were also present to pay their respects.
Deb Mukherjee, born in Kanpur, was an integral part of the renowned Mukherjee-Samarth family, which has been deeply involved in the film industry for four generations since the 1930s. His mother, Satidevi, was the only sister of iconic figures Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar, and Kishore Kumar. Deb’s brothers included actor Joy Mukherjee and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, who was married to Bollywood star Tanuja. His nieces are renowned actresses Kajol and Rani Mukerji.
Deb Mukherjee had been married twice. His daughter Sunita, from his first marriage, is married to filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. His son, Ayan Mukherjee, is from his second marriage. Over the course of his career, Deb Mukherjee appeared in several notable films, including Sambandh, Adhikar, Zindagi Zindagi, Haiwan, Mai Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Karate, Baaton Baaton Mein, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, and more.
