Bollywood actor Bobby Deol opened up about his transformative journey as Baba Nirala in Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 – Part 2, highlighting how the role pushed him beyond his comfort zone.
In an exclusive conversation with media, Deol shared how director Prakash Jha’s unexpected casting choice came as a surprise. “I thought he would offer me the role of a police officer, but when he said, ‘aap baba ka role play karenge,’ I couldn’t believe it,” said Deol. “Prakash ji believed in me, and I finally got the challenging role I had been waiting for.”
Director Prakash Jha praised Deol’s dedication, remarking, “He worked really hard on the character. I told him not to mimic any existing baba but to believe that he himself is Baba Nirala.”
The latest trailer of the series, shared by Deol on Instagram, offers a glimpse into the unraveling of Baba Nirala’s empire, highlighting power struggles, betrayals, and dark secrets. Pammi’s fearless return and Bhopa Swami’s growing hunger for power promise a gripping continuation.
Speaking about his preparation, Deol said, “Prakash ji reminded me that people would listen to me as Baba Nirala. I stayed away from caricatures, focusing on authenticity. Every actor in the series has done phenomenal work.”
Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 – Part 2 also stars Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumaar, Esha Gupta, and Chandan Roy Sanyal. The series will be available for free streaming on Amazon MX Player from February 27. Audiences can watch it via the Amazon mobile app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Connected TVs.
