New Delhi [India]: Blinkit, the quick commerce platform known for delivering daily essentials, beauty products, pet care items, and food, has introduced a new service with a social purpose: ambulances at the patient’s doorstep in just 10 minutes.
Starting Thursday, the first five ambulances have been deployed in Gurugram, as announced by Blinkit Founder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa via a post on X.

“Ambulance in 10 minutes. We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities. The first five ambulances will be on the road in Gurugram starting today. As we expand the service to more areas, you will start seeing an option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the @letsblinkit app,” Dhindsa wrote.
Service Features and Vision
Blinkit aims to address the lack of swift and dependable ambulance services in Indian cities. The ambulances are equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), a stretcher, monitors, a suction machine, and emergency medicines.
Each ambulance will have a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver to ensure quality service. Dhindsa emphasized that profit is not the goal of this initiative. “We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term,” he added.
Future Plans
Blinkit plans to expand this service to all major cities across India within the next two years.
Dhindsa also urged the public to always make way for ambulances, stressing the importance of timely medical assistance.
