BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht Vows To Rename Mustafabad After Election Win

New Delhi [India]: Mohan Singh Bisht, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) winning candidate from Mustafabad, has confirmed his commitment to renaming the constituency, emphasizing that his developmental efforts in the area date back to 1998.

Speaking to ANI, Bisht reiterated his intention to push for the name change, stating, “We will change the name from Mustafabad to Shivpuri or Shiv Vihar… I will change the name because I did the development work from 1998 to 2008 there… and the development work is not related to the name.”

Following his electoral victory, Bisht reaffirmed his focus on development in Mustafabad, saying, “I work for the development of my constituency based on my experience of 25 years. I had said that if I won, I’ll change the name of Mustafabad to Shivpuri or Shiv Vihar. I’ll do it.”

The BJP leader also pledged to advocate for infrastructure improvements in the constituency, stating, “The day I take the oath, I will ask for limiting drains on the peripheral line.”

Bisht contested from Mustafabad, a Muslim-majority constituency, and secured victory over Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Adeel Ahmad Khan. The BJP achieved a landslide win in the Delhi assembly elections, securing 48 out of 70 seats and displacing the AAP from power. However, the party has yet to announce its Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi.

In a significant political shift, the BJP also defeated several prominent AAP leaders, including party chief Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi, Manish Sisodia from Jangpura, Saurabh Bhardwaj from Greater Kailash, and Satyendar Jain from Shakur Basti.
